Acanto e l'estetica, quando il design racconta il Salento

Acanto and Aesthetics: When Design Recounts the Story of Salento

For us at Acanto, aesthetics is a language. It is the way we transform our land into shapes, colours and materials, creating a balance between contemporary elegance and Mediterranean roots.

The Territory as a Colour Palette

Salento is our natural palette. The warm tones of Lecce stone live in styles such as Cognac Sand, Terra Tan and Court Cuoio Ice. The sea inspires the shades of Acanto Blue and Court Indaco, while Mediterranean light guides the whites and ecru tones of Summer Trama and Girona.

We do not choose colours from a catalogue. We recognise them in the landscape and bring them onto the shoe.

Clean Shapes, Meaningful Design

For us, aesthetics is not decoration. It is meaning. Our design interprets the past without copying it, and every line in the collection expresses this in its own way.

Court reinterprets 1970s running shoes through a flat, streamlined silhouette. Sneaker-ina reinvents the ballet flat. Bold raises the sole to create a more dynamic silhouette, while Basket refines the proportions of classic basketball shoes.

Different shapes, the same idea of beauty: one that does not follow trends, but reflects the sensibility of the person wearing it.

Elegance Born from Simplicity

The essence of Acanto is a light, spontaneous and lived-in elegance. Every curve is designed to feel natural, every shade to evoke a familiar emotion.

Inside every shoe there is a fragment of our land: a detail that recalls stone, a line that evokes a wave, a light that feels like home.

This is what aesthetics means to us.

You can see this philosophy throughout our entire collection and discover where it comes from through our roots in Salento.

FAQ

What does the name Acanto mean?

Acanto is the Mediterranean acanthus plant, known for decorating ancient capitals and growing naturally throughout Salento. The brand chose this name to connect every collection to its land, from its shapes to its colours.

Where do the colours of Acanto sneakers come from?

They come from the Salento landscape. Lecce stone inspires warm shades such as cognac, sand and leather tones, the sea inspires blues and indigos, while Mediterranean light influences whites and ecru shades.

Every palette begins in the landscape before finding its way onto the shoe.
